Transformation
Originally a wonderful 1890’s Victorian Mansion with a 1960’s addition and once known as a musicians hangout in the early 70’s, this South Yarra hotel has been dragged into the 21st century and is fast becoming a hub for the fashion industry, music and corporate industry travelers both internationally and domestically.
Having recently undergone a remarkable transformation, our hotel in South Yarra has emerged with a Fashion meets Music theme which can be seen throughout this boutique hotel. From the black and white striped walls in the new bar, to the floor to ceiling photographs, murals and artwork, funky bed-heads and red hallways, it’s become an interesting and chilled place to stay.
Bloomfield Bar & Bistro
Breakfast is served 7 days a week in our sun filled restaurant. We are very excited to now be offering cakes and coffee all day long, bar food each night and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, all prepared by our resident chef – Anthony Siketa. Anthony is formerly from award winning restaurant Sel de la Terre in Toorak Road and Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley. Our South Yarra boutique hotel prides itself on its individuality and cheeky style which is designed to both welcome and entertain you in the most comfortable of ways. More importantly our front office team are warm and welcoming and are there to attend to even your smallest needs. We even offer a Rolls Royce chauffeur service (limited availability) on Friday and Saturday nights within the CBD.

We are positively bursting with excitement to announce our brand spanking new rooftop pool and garden NOW OPEN which has the most amazing view of Melbourne!! Take a dip, indulge in a spot of synchronized swimming, relax on a sunbed or whatever takes your fancy! It is ‘the’ place to hang out…

The Bloomfield Suite
The 2 bedroom Bloomfield Suite is what we like to call our “Rockstar” room! It is newly renovated, totally cool and lots of fun. Situated in the Mansion, it’s our flagship suite. Imagine a red lacquered sitting room and Kitchen with a red fridge, white floorboards, a black and white striped wall, mirrors galore and a full dining room table for eight.
The bedrooms consist of a King master bedroom which has windows on two sides including a view over Fawkner Park and a smaller second room with a double bed. The bathroom is large and sassy with a frameless glass shower, timber floors and a cowhide rug. Of course it includes the things that our other rooms have, TV’s, Foxtel, on demand movies, complimentary broadband, beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, a sound system, a fully equipped kitchen and all the stuff you need for tea and coffee, iron and board and a full mini bar. When you are done checking out your suite, wander up to the brand spanking new Rooftop Pool with one of the best views in Melbourne!!
The Mansion Suite
Ok – now we’re talking. The Mansion Suites are all located in our heritage listed Mansion. The 15 foot ceilings contribute to an amazing feeling of space. All have a fireplace (best not to light them) and some have gorgeous chandeliers. All of them have a sitting area, so you don’t have to entertain on your bed …unless of course that’s the idea. Throughout the room there is so much to do, raid the mini bar, surf the net with your complimentary broadband, wander up to the Rooftop Pool, watch Foxtel or an in-house movie on the largest flat screen tv’s in the hotel, read a Vogue Magazine, do a spot of ironing, wash your hair with Kevin Murphy shampoo, or simply lie down on your really comfortable king bed and be smothered in the softest doona and pillows. So much to do, so little time…..We don’t suggest you stay in one alone………
Bloomfield Deluxe Room
The Bloomfield Deluxe rooms have all been fully renovated and are all situated overlooking leafy Millswyn Street, one of South Yarra’s prettiest streets. They are serene and shrouded in wonderful light filtering through the trees outside. Their overhaul took them from 0 – 100 in one giant step and included brand new bathrooms, a funky new fashion meets rock and roll themed bedhead, flat screen tv’s with foxtel, on demand movies, mini bars, fridge, coffee and tea stuff, amazingly comfortable beds and soft linen. With beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, complimentary broadband and access to our fabulous Rooftop Pool, try one, our guess is that you will request the same room for your second visit.

Our chic location is what makes this hotel even more unique. Nestled in South Yarra, one of Melbourne’s most exclusive areas, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Melbourne’s top restaurants. Located on the corner of Toorak Road and a couple of blocks from famous Chapel street (one of Melbourne’s prime shopping areas) we are only 2 km’s away from the city itself. Connected by trams in both directions and on the corner of Toorak Road, Millswyn Street runs between gorgeous Fawkner park and the Royal Botanic Gardens. We are a hop, skip and a jump from the Melbourne Cricket Ground – ok well a 20 minute walk or 10 minute cab ride, close to the Grand Prix circuit (easily audible in Feb), a short tram ride to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), the Victoria and Prahan Markets, the Rod Laver Tennis Centre and the many of the Overseas Consulates.

Bar Food
Open each afternoon from 4:00pm, the Bloomfield Bar is the perfect spot to have a relaxing drink before heading out. We have also just introduced Cocktail Hour every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 5.30 to 6.30pm. Buy one of our fabulous cocktails and we will give you one for free!

The traditions of French cuisine provide the framework for Chef Anthony Siketa’s ever-changing menu at the Bloomfield. With borrowings from across Europe, the menu might include black truffle risotto, quail with chestnut veloute or a spicy duck cassoulet. The staff are knowledgeable and relaxed, and will guide you through the ever-changing wine list. Many of which are available by the glass.
